Fallbrook Union High School District has officially earned Eat Real Certification at the Silver Tier — becoming one of only five in the country, to date!

Located in north San Diego County, the district serves approximately 2,096 students with a program built on scratch cooking, fresh produce, and a genuine commitment to giving students real choices at the lunch line every single day. This certification is a reflection of the dedication and heart the team has poured into building something worth celebrating.

“[Eat Real] challenged us to look closely at the work we are already doing while also helping us see new opportunities to strengthen our program… Our students are one of our greatest investments, and caring for them well is at the heart of our work.”
— Judi Reynolds, Director of Food Services

26 Unique Entrees Weekly

On average, students at Fallbrook Union High School District can choose from 26 lunch entrees each week — a balance of familiar favorites and new flavors that ensures every student can find something they love. Across 341,231 breakfasts and lunches served each year, that variety adds up to a lunch line students actually look forward to.

Over 46% Minimally Processed

With an average of 147 scratch-made items served each week, nearly half of all menu offerings are made with simpler, minimally processed ingredients. Scratch cooking at this scale takes real commitment, something that the Fallbrook team brings every single day.

30 Fresh Produce Options Each Week

On average, students are served 11 fresh fruits and 19 fresh vegetables each week — a lineup that supports better mood, focus, and academic performance throughout the school day. Fresh produce in this variety and volume doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because a team decided that students deserve it and built a program around that belief.

Congratulations to Director Judi Reynolds and her entire team on this incredible milestone! Twenty-six unique entrees weekly, nearly half the menu made from scratch, and a program built around the belief that students deserve the very best. Fallbrook Union High School District has earned every bit of this recognition. We are so proud and so honored to celebrate this journey with them!
