The DOC community comes together for Eat Real

Inspired by a small group of thoughtful, committed scientists and leaders, DOC explores ‘truth in medicine’ with a mission to scale high-quality, innovative science in longevity and healthcare. The inaugural DOC gathering, held last October, focused on scaling the best in longevity science and medicine, with topics including neuroscience, women’s health, AI, and aging.

Our very own Nora LaTorre, CEO of Eat Real, delivered a keynote about the children’s health crisis in America, sharing that today’s three year olds will see a heartbreaking 693 fewer sunsets than their parents. The leading cause: ultra-processed food-related disease.

At Eat Real, we understand that there is a fast, scalable, and enduring upstream solution—public schools.

“Eat Real can improve the nutrition of what’s on those breakfast and lunch trays, and prevent disease before it starts.”

–Nora LaTorre, CEO of Eat Real

Members of the DOC community were so compelled by LaTorre’s talk that they volunteered their support in the room. Michael Tang, of the Cyrus and Michael Tang Foundation, pledged $250,000 to launch Eat Real Certification in his home state of Nevada. Several other DOC leaders, including Kevin Ryan and Pascaline Servan-Schreiber, also pledged significant support.

Thanks in part to the generosity and support of the DOC community, we are on our way to expanding into 10 new states and achieving our mission of reaching 1,000,000 students nationwide by the end of 2025.

“The DOC community is committed to finding new and innovative ways to extend health and happiness. Improving the longevity of our kids is a number one priority for all of us. We do it through science and medicine; Eat Real does it through food and community.”

–Jordan Shlain, DOC co-founder and Eat Real Chairman
