The food was good. There are little changes that would make the dishes fantastic. Like the togarashi chips were nice and crisp but a bit over seasoned and thereby salty. To accompanying garlic dip was delicious. The mussels in yuzu broth was excellent. The mussels were cooked to perfection. Our pork chop was overcooked and dry, but the spaetzel had a lovely crispy texture and the peaches were nicely cooked. The ropa vieja was very tasty with the chimichurri sauce. We went during happy hour but weren't offered a happy hour menu, thankfully the regular dinner menu will have us coming back.
Friendly atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and good all around experience.
Loved it. From the interesting tasting that welcomed us, to the diverse selection of appetizers, things started well. The layout meant that each table was spaced nicely, even with outdoor options. The entrees' selection met everyones needs.
This place is delicious. Only giving it 4 starts instead of 5, because the service was pretty slow for a relatively calm afternoon.
This is by far one of the best places I've eaten in Pleasanton. It is my birthday week and so we went out to have a nice dinner. I don't drink and I typically get looked at weird for not getting an adult beverage, however the waitress didn't pressure me about getting any alcohol. It was quite refreshing. I didn't want any appetizers because I've been eating out all week and I wanted to make sure that I could eat my dinner. She did not judge, treat us like we were cheap or press on. When it came time for dessert we kindly declined considering I was so full already, and I just wanted to walk around. our waitress understood and promptly nearest the check without pressuring us to pay so she could go home. This is not only the best service I've received in a long time but the best food I've had in a very long time. Our waitress, Tavitha is the best waitress. She was so kind, so friendly, so fast, and so prompt that it made the experience even better.
Nice and cozy environment. Upscale restaurant with unique amazing food. You have to try.
There are several top restaurants in Pleasanton but this is the nicest. I have tried individual dishes and set meals, the Valentine's 9 course tasting menu was really special. Service is always good with a special waiter who delivers dishes always explaining the ingredients. Dishes are usually modern takes on standard European dishes often with Asian twists. Definitely designed for multiple courses with smaller potions.
Service was excellent, food was fantastic, wine was local. All in a friendly neighborhood feel. What more could you want?
Food was tasty and fresh and flavorful. Service was cheery and responsive. Prices were high for Pleasanton, so it's probably a best for a special occasion.
What a great place for a special dinner. The food is superb and the service is better. If you reserve(24 hour advance notice required)the Chefs tasting dinner be prepared to spend 3 hours dining on the many delicious, small portion courses. You will definitely be full when you leave. Their special carrot cake is out of this world.
Great Place. Great staff. Yummy food........Oysters Oysters Oysters. $1.00 only during happy hour ?
Our first trip to Sabio was as a large group with majority being vegetarian. They have pretty good choices for vegetarians. Not only the presentation of dishes was amazing, they also had depth of flavors. Hummus with Taro chips was a hit at our table. They also have amazing collection of wine. I definitely plan to visit it again soon and it will be on my top let of places to celebrate special occasions!!
This place has been fantastic every time I've been there. What initially hooked me were dinner entrees shared by a friend and myself where the SEASONAL BEANS were the hero of utterly wonderful dishes. AMAZING!
Best tapas and oysters. Check out Friday happy hour really good specials
Such yummy food. Great brunch cocktails and great wine selection. I'm a vegetarian and there aren't too many options, but what they did have was yummy.
Sitting in the restaurant and writing review for it. I came here for Valentine's day dinner, got reservation for 8pm a week ago. They have a special fixed 4 course menu for Valentine's day. Checked in at 7:55 pm and got seated at 8:20pm (20 mins delay, it was busy so nevermind). We were not drinking but even than 1st course (appetizer) was served at 8:40 pm . I told waitress to hurry up after waiting a lot for 2nd course , she said she is trying her best. It is 9:20 pm right now and we are served only 2 courses so far. 3rd course is the main entree but still out of sight. It is disappointing that you can't serve a fixed menu meal in a reasonable time even when asked for it. Ruined our Valentine's day.

Good, inventive food. Hits and misses but a couple of items and a drink you should be good to go.
This place is amazing. The food is just so good! We enjoyed every dish. While in want a fan of the furniture they had inside (I want to say I remember our chairs being wicker), that wasn't the reason we came.
Was there for snacks...the vegetarian options were good...liked the brussel sprouts and cauliflower dishes. The mint chocolate creme brulee was awesome

Went here for brunch on a Saturday, it's charming and cozy. The kitchen was having a bit of trouble keeping up with the demand, but we didn't mind since we were enjoying conversation. However after about an hour our stomachs started to grumble. Before we knew it, the server and the manager noticed our discomfort and swooped in to help. Offering to take care of our meal and expedite our orders, the manager made us feel very taken care of. Despite the wait, the food was incredible! We will definitely be back because the service was so accommodating.
Nice feel to the bar and inside/outside dining. Always good tapas and drinks.
The food was quite tasty, the menu not overly large. I felt the prices to be too high however, including a $25 corkage fee. I wouldn't make the 28 mile drive again.
Great food. A bit on the pricey side for the portions they offer, but the food is very good. Their sea bass is really good.
Ordered the Poke, and it wasn't even red nor old poke Brown, it was white in color, and tasted off. Food portion is too small for the price, and I can't believe I even left any tip at all. As an Iberian, I'm still trying to figure out what is Spanish about this place.
The food was fun, beautiful and delicious! Yummy small bites, reasonable....A great place to spend with a friend or partner in crime! ?
Amazing place! The place is very nice and trendy. The service was just wonderful, not only fast but super attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and the prices perfect for the service and quality. Will for sure come back!
The food is excellent, the ambience is welcoming and transports you to Lisbon. I loved the service and hospitality. Order the cauliflower, the Brussels sprouts when in season are delicious, and any drink. Had a great meal and good time at Sabio tonight.
Bartender will create drinks for you based upon your preferences but drinks on menu we good as well. Small plates were sumptuous and filling.
My first experience with tapas. Great food, attentive staff, had a nice time here.
Tasting menu $89. Not bad for a 13 course dinner. I was full even before the last course. Think that the price could've been a little less for the portions that were given, but it was still worth it. Most of the courses were unique and cooked perfectly. Starting off with the clean oysters was awesome. Meatball, tempura and shrimp dishes didn't really impress, there definitely could have been a different, less heavier route that would've fit better. Didn't get a chance to photograph the larger protein dishes but did prefer the dry aged duck breast over the lamb. Spraying the dish prior to eating was a cool way to infuse aroma into the dish but I didn't think it accentuated anything in this case. I think if the shrimp was omitted I would have not been as full and just as content. I thought it was nicely presented but the broth was not something I would eat without a more substantial carb. It felt like eating a curry without the rice or naan to me. The inclusion of three jumbo shrimp was about 1-2 shrimp more than I expected. I saw only a few pieces of potato and didn't even realize they were supposed to be sweet potatoes until getting the menu after our meal. A little more heat or spice would have elevated the dish. The pork belly was meaty and perfectly crispy. I liked the simplicity of the asparagus dish more than I expected. I liked the lemon zest and the shaved cured egg yolk. Thought it was interesting to include the egg in that way. There was a sauce on the bottom but it was a little salty. Service was on point and pacing was on the slower side but consistent. I would definitely recommend trying the tasting menu and then ordering more of the items you liked the next time you go in.
Loved this place. Kind of an Asian fusion joint. High pricing but worth it. Very classy interior and fantastic service.
This was the most laughable experience we have ever had in a restaurant. "Jumbo Gulf Shrimp" was literally a ONE salad shrimp on a toothpick. You can therein imagine the size! The pork pate was in the mold of rectangular canned cat food and tasted worse. We truly believe it was cat food, I do not say this lightly as it is disgusting. Cats would turn up their noses! You think this is funny? It is not. The prices were ridiculous! SMH! Never again. The service was lackadaisical and they were only serving three tables in the entire restaurant including us... and yet we waited and waited for that tiny salad shrimp. We had a very expensive laugh. Never even waste your time! Per a professional food critic! More to come on this place! Wow!
