This is my favorite restaurant so far in Knoxville! Best poached egg I have ever had! The food was scrumptious! I had an interview here, but I am looking forward to coming again to this restaurant with my boyfriend some time soon!
First time for brunch. Great biscuits. Best catfish I've had. Great service.
Great presentation and service, menu sourced from local and sustainable providers, and each course is prepared with attention to detail!
Amazing, delicious meal and service! We ordered 7 things between the two of us. All were amazingly prepared and delicious.
Loved the trout special. Great appetizers. A subtle atmosphere with dim lighting. Much conviviality on all sides. Courteous staff.
Holy cow. Best burger I've ever eaten !! Be sure to go on burger night ! Appetizers were super.. fresh pork rinds, deviled eggs, and black eyed pea hummas.. all great ! Drink specials , I had strawberry rhubarb n gin.. so delicious!
We went for brunch on a Sunday and really enjoyed it. The menu is fairly small but everything we had was delicious. Thr restaurant itself is also fairly small but it has a nice atmosphere and reasonable prices for high quality meals.
Fine food and service. Menu being a single page is nice. Although the space is a little cramped.
Quaint and casual atmosphere. It smelled so good as soon as we walked in. It smelled like fine dining, and I was not wrong. I had a perfectly seasoned, tender filet mignon with frites! We ordered some of their homemade rolls made with pork fat too. So fluffy and soft! And that sorghum butter, well, I asked for a to-go container so I could put that on my breakfast toast this week. Mmm!
The mimosa's we're fantastic, the food was also delicious. Service and staff are top notch.
Had a nice intimate dinner. We recommend this place
Totally underwhelming. Of everything we sampled, the best was the Sweetwater pimento cheese, which wasn't even house made! The charcuterie board came with a seafood sausage, which is TERRIBLE, considering I am allergic to shellfish. I have literally never seen shellfish on a charcuterie board before and didn't think it was a dish that I needed to disclaim my allergy for. The "pork rolls" were just run of the mill yeast rolls and the kale salad tasted mostly of lemon. Finally, the "peanut butter cup" dessert resembled the taste and texture of dirt and the banana pudding was not set at all. I would be willing to give them another try, but I won't be rushing back to do so.
Great date night restaurant right in downtown Knoxville. Giving 4 stars because it had very limited menu options but what they do cook is excellent! Slightly on the pricey end but also had great ambiance and decor. Would recommend reservations on weekend nights.
Great place, narrow and lively. Formerly Harolds (for those that remember the long time Knoxville deli) and thank you to the new owners for paying tribute with the artwork. Very interesting modern twist on southern staples (try the pimento cheese and beer bread). Great drink list and attentive service. You cant go wrong here
Amazing! We've eaten all over the world, and this meal was fabulous! We had the prix fixe Valentine's day meal which started with a southern take on oysters Rockefeller made with collards and Benton's ham. Then, we had buttermilk fried quail with a sorghum glaze that had us practically sucking the meat off the bones. Next, they served a deconstructed beef Wellington with Bordelaise sauce. For dessert we had a fantastic chocolate terrine.
We ate there tonight and it was fabulous! Excellent food and service. We will definitely go back.
Most delicious meals, Warren and Josiah are awesome chefs!!! Never disappoints!!!
Great spot for brunch! Friendly service and great food prepared by a well trained chef team.
I've been in a couple of times now and the food is consistently great. The staff is also wonderful and attentive. I will be going back next time I'm in town.
Best culinary experience in Knoxville!!! Very innovative approach to traditional southern favorites!!
Restaurant acoustics were really terrible. Couldn't hear our waitress tell our friends the specials. Steak had lots of fat on it.. Way overpriced for what you received. The menus were very small, the print was hardly readable and the low lighting made it even more difficult to read. I won't be returning to this restaurant !!! ?
WOW sums it all up in one word. Everything seems to be made in house and of high quality ingredients. Staff are superb and very knowledgeable about what it is in each menu item. We had two appetizers: the Sweetwater Pimento Cheese, with Fanatic Brewery Beer Bread, Housemade 'Wicked Pickles' and the Homemade White Sweet Potato Chips with Herb Salt and Romesco Sauce. The romesco sauce was INCREDIBLE! The second appetizer we shared was the Creamy Shelton Farm Grits with Housemade Tasso Ham Gravy. I am salivating right now just thinking about these two items! My entree was the Panzanella of House Made Bread, Local Tomatoes, White Bean Hummus, Summer Squashes, Basil Vinaigrette and Noble Springs Feta Cheese. They have several craft beers, a nice wine selection and even some interesting mixed drinks. I heard someone mention a raspberry Moscow Mule which sounded really intriguing. They have a couple of specials that aren't on the online menu. One of my cohorts had the meatloaf special which was made of a mixture of beef and pork with a smokey bbq sauce on it. It included homemade biscuits with a special butter - but be warned, the butter is an extra cost - we didn't know about it ahead of time. Bottom line, this is one of those places you "want to go to there!"
Love this place! Great dishes to choose from.
Great place. Menu is a nice mix of healthy and comfort food.
Everything we tried was delicious. Excellent service. We will be regulars.
Great Date Place, especially if your Girl or boy is a Healthy person!
One of the best farm to table experience in Knoxville. Intimate setting with service that is personalized and professional. Ben was our server, I'd recommend him to anyone
It was different, but enjoyable. The food was on point. Staff was kind.
This place is incredibly good. Had brunch here with a fried chicken dish which was one of the best I've ever had. Also tried their homemade pork rinds and they slayed. Check it.
Absolutely phenomenal food. Great atmosphere, call ahead because they are always busy. Definitely one of the best Restaurants in knoxville and not that pricy.
Great coffee. My company loved the pork and black eyed peas. I had the chicken and dumplings. The flavor was amazing but it is more of a soup.
Avoid this overpriced place with pretty much generic food.
We ordered the Duck wings and croquettes for our first course. They were out standing. Then we had the catfish and chicken for our main course with the rod to share. Pana Cotta for dessert. The food was some of the best I have had in Knoxville and the atmosphere was inviting. Wait staff was coordinated and polite. Very highly recommended.
Amazing food, service, and craftsmanship! This is a fantastic farm to table restaurant that prides itself in using locally sourced products.
We've eaten here several times and it's always been a positive experience. The duck wings are phenomenal and we're always happy with our orders. We took some friends here when they were visiting and they're major foodies. They were very happy as well.
Great charcuterie platter; amazing deviled eggs. Kilts green salad was delicious. A true gem and the surprising highlight of our brief Knoxville stay! Will definitely stop here again.
Never disappoints. We eat there several times a year and it's always good. Not pretentious just fresh quality ingredients and prompt friendly service. The Benton's bacon wrapped Vidalia onions and The Derby pie with Sorghum mousse are just delicious. Entrees are all good and the portions are just right.
My wife and I came here looking for great southern food with a modern twist. They gave us this, I got the quail with the pan biscuits as a side. The quail and slaw and potato salad all went so well together, and the biscuits were perfect. My wife ordered the chicken on risotto, I'm taking a star off because the chicken came out quite undercooked. Not dangerously so, but certainly appetizingly so. The risotto was flavorful and delicious, but I can't give full marks to a restaurant that charges $16 for undercooked chicken. The prices are a bit absurd, considering what you get, but the ambiance is great and the food is good, so I guess that's what you're paying for. I would revisit the place if the prices came down a few dollars for each dish. Particularly the chicken dish.
So great for hanging out, good food. Not huge but they are nice and always helpful.
My wife and I celebrated an anniversary here the other week. It was a perfect night to sit on their back patio in the cool, quiet evening. Server was very nice, and the food was fantastic. I had quail, to try something new. My wife (a huge steak lover) had the filet. She put it in her top two steaks of all time. Highly recommended!
Great spot to eat. Amazing staff. Most of the crew here from Blackberry Farm. The food and presentation show. Enjoy.
13 years ago I ate a steak in a quaint restaurant in WV that has ruined every steak for me since. Tonight I tasted THE STEAK that topped it. The fillet is amazing! Timed slowed for a moment. It was the kind of meal that after you eat it you are afraid to eat dessert because there is no way that anything will taste as good as what you just finished. However, I had house made peach ice cream that was a great PLUS. BTW...I have 15 food allergies that was accommodated with just a minor alteration to my meal. Very friendly! Will be back and bring my peeps with me.:)
My wife has food allergies and with to no modifications she was able to order one of the best dinners we have eaten in Knoxville. The seating is a little cramped, European style, but food was excellent.
Cool, quaint, friendly. Excellent food menu, although limited in size. Cocktails to desserts, it was all good! Check this spot in downtown out!
Contrast with the Founding Farmers brunch a few weeks ago, this is the way it should have been. The service at Knox Mason was amazing. The food was spot on, the portions were appropriate if not a little extra, and the mimosa is astounding. The waiter suggested a little change in recipe for the mimosa, and was it great! The atmosphere is open while being a small setting. The grits and the red sauce were spot on, and my mom's pancakes were so tasty, even she thought they were some of the best. To top it all off, the funnel cake dashed with cinnamon sugar was oh so tasty.
Brunch food I orders was not edible. Meat had clearly turned and then been cooked. Odor from beef was very strong and awful. Didn't eat more than a bite and waitress said nothing and let us pay and leave. She never asked if I wanted another drink etc as well. We had to ask to even get silverware after food was on table. I don't return food as a former manager and bartender I believe a good restaurant will notice when something is wrong and take action. I shall never return to this place.
Great hostess, great waiting staff, the sous-chef was an ass...e and acted like he owned the place.
Exceptional restaurant, service and food are both excellent - but especially the food. Of all the restaurants in downtown Knoxville, this is certainly the best, and likely the best in the city as a whole. Catfish and Pork Blade are standouts, the pork rind appetizer is mind blowing.
We had heard to try here and had a large group. Matthew went above and beyond to get us all seated. The duck wings were amazing!! Most of our table had the filet and it was superb!! Quaint atmosphere and perfect for a meal! Will definitely be going back!
Everyone really enjoyed their entrée. We ordered the deviled eggs and the pimento cheese appetizers, and both were fantastic. The menu was varied, offering something for everyone. I really enjoyed the catfish. The staff were friendly and knowledgable about the menu. Everything from the cocktails, to the appetizers, ambiance and dessert was spot on. We will definitely be back!
